Private Confession

Any person may confess one's sinfulness or a particular sin in private confession and be absolved. Confession is received (heard) by a pastor, another church worker or a Christian who treat confessions as confidential matter.

Confession is made in a church or other suitable place. A conversation for counseling may take place alongside private confession. The one making the confession may use the Ten Commandments and penitential psalms (Ps. 6, 32, 38, 51, 102, 130 and 143) as helps in self-examination. Confession must include at least a confession of sin and a declaration of forgiveness. Otherwise the occasion may be structured freely.
