Moms and Tots

moms tots 2Welcome to the Finnish Agricola Moms & Tots group. Our group has been in existence for over 20 years now. It was started with just a handful of moms as a chance to get together with other mothers of Finnish descent who had children not yet attending school.

The idea was that the children would get exposed to other Finnish-speaking children and parents, and would also give a chance for moms to expose their children to Christian morals & lessons. Of course, tots do not always have a long attention span, and now our group has a variety of reasons why moms attend. We have a committee of volunteer moms, who work behind the scenes to try to provide variety to our time together.

Our committee is doing its best to provide a variety of interesting activities for our children every Wednesday. If you are sending your child with a nanny, grand-parent or friend, please make sure that they are aware of their supervision responsibilities. Dads are welcome as well.

Actually in Finland moms & tots groups nowadays go with the name "family club" (perhekerho). You don't have to speak Finnish to be able to join our group. Interest in Finnish culture is enough. All the important information is given in English if needed. The primary language for singing and lessons is Finnish.
