Jesus says: "For God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, so that everyone who believes in him may not perish but may have eternal life. Indeed, God did not send the Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him" (John 3: 16-17).
A funeral service is conducted by a pastor in a church / chapel, chapel of the hospital, funeral home or at an open grave, wherever the relatives agree upon with the pastor. Before the funeral, the pastor should meet the relatives of the deceased for a discussion. If invited by the relatives, the pastor should, if possible, also be with them as they gather together after the service.
